Day 34: Back on road

Leaving SF
Leaving SF

Aha crap. I am 3 days behind here again.. Story of my life.

The last few days rest were great but also glad to be getting back onto the bike. After winding through some city streets, I entered Golden gate park. This was nice as this was on my Todo list for when in SF but I didn’t get around to it. The golden gate park led to the coast where it was met with highway 1, sandy beaches and dunes for many kms. This was very scenic, the only problem being the big gusts of winds that trethen to blow the bike off course.

I also had my first experience trying to cycle in sand. I mean it was only 10 meters or so across the pavement but said I would try it given that Baja is fast approaching. Nearly fell off my bike trying this. This throws a lot of doubt on if me or my bike is capable of doing the Baja divide. But this is a problem for a few weeks.

Was a short 55 km day. Met a Calafornion native guy at camp on a 4 day long weekend tour, the last of the season. Guess it is getting pretty late in the year.

But why not?
