Day 72: San Ignacio

Would be another 75ish km day on highway 1 which should only be 3-4 hours of cycling time. A far cry from the dawn to dusk days on the Baja divide. So I took full advantage of the hotel bed and slept in and talked some smooth brained shite with friends from home.
Decided to bite the bullet and bought the “Spanish with Paul” full course. It is expensive but I like the teaching style and find I can do it on the bike. Will call it an investment as my Spanish, while improving a little, is still terrible.
Cycling today was much the same as the last few days. Very long straight roads with flat dessert type surroundings. Had a little tailwind for the first half of the day.
The 2nd half of the day was hills and a strong headwind. After successfully fumbling my way through another Military checkpoint, I arrived into a lovely little town called San Ignacio. It reminds me of Antigua in Guatemala, just smaller. Checked into one of the best campgrounds of the trip to date for just 150 pesos. Jan and Fiona are here too. Is such a nice little town and campground, I will probably spend a rest day here.
We went for dinner and drinks in the main square in front of the mission church.
