Day 79: biggest distance to date
Myself and Manuel decided we would cycle together today. First 30 kms were nice and easy followed by a huge hill that took 70 mins to get up. However, I am feeling my fitness is improving as these kinds of hills I am not walking anymore.
I jokingly suggested cycling 120 kms today to some small town so that we wouldn’t have to wild camp. However, Manuel is good at playing along with my joke and after playing along for so long, neither of us were sure if the other was serious. So we did the 120km.
Have said this multiple times but the Mexican truck drivers are great! Give so much room and are very friendly. 10/10
Final 20km were a real struggle but mostly because I didn’t eat much today. Eventually reached town and checked into the first motel we found. Cheap, basic but does the job.
Had good taco dinner
Manuel gave out to me for drinking 3 bottles of Fanta today. So will have to cut this down. Was a Fanta fueled day.
Today was my biggest distance so far. Progress!
