Day 124: Guadalajara

Some random small village I cycled through today

Got up this morning lacking a hangover. This is one of my favorite ways to wake up. Was tempted to stay another day here in Tequila but decided to push onto Guadalajara today and then take a couple of days off to explore that bigger city.

Not much to say in this entry. Less climbing than the last 2 days but still ending each day higher than the day before. Currently sitting at 1550 meters.

Guadalajara is the biggest metropolitan area in Mexico outside of CDMX. So I spent quite a bit of time battling and cursing the traffic. At one point I overtook an ambulance with full sirons on just because traffic was that bad.

Got sunburned on my lower back. Have stupid tan mark here from where one of my tshirts doesn’t quite cover all my lower back while cycling.

Guadalajara seems like an interesting place so I will spend a couple of days here exploring. I will attempt to fix the bike shifting issue myself during this time. Worst case is I mess up my gearing even more and have to push it to a bike shop. Should probably swap out my derailleur hanger too.

See ye in a few days!
